Saturday, Sunday and a Game Review

We went river walking with the dogs at the Nooch. A warm day that was filled with great conversation, beautiful landscapes and warm sun.sun. Came home pretty worn out, but went for a short run anyways.Then played Dead Island on the PS3.Much fun to be had.

 Day 2 of Dead Island
I am not too keen on the console 1st person shooters, but when Josh plays it for me, he makes it sing. The graphics are beautiful, you actually squint because the sun is so bright, you have cardio achievements(I know,? In a Game?) A fully satisfying ass kick to zombies that fall over attempting to get you. Lets not forget the cunt punt to the ghetto booty,bikini clad zombie ladies you have meelee'd(is that a word")  The missions are illustrated to you in crayon with goals and rewards as well as level of difficulty clearly labelled. When your character accepts, it makes you laugh a little,like you h ave just been asked to pick up some candy while at the grocery store. Don't forget the burbling,drowning nose the zombies make when they fall face first into water(which is a lot). That is Josh's personal favorite, maybe a new ring tone?
  Fully satisfying in that you get your ass kick on. Literally, quite satisfying. The game also offers the opportunity for a little drive by zombie killing and some serious exploring. Although at times we were told that we were leaving the "playable area" when we went to far into the ocean. A bit of realism when you get in over your head in water, and your eyesight is all blurry from the water, Weapons do break, but there are many to choose from all over. I personally like the skills you can build from, limited though they may be, they add some to the game. The story? It's about zombies on an island......that's all you need. The commercial for it with the slow emotional cinematography was amazing and has nothing to do with this slasher.

Pros:
Limited though it may be, this game on console is simple fun. With awesome noises.I looked forward to seeing it,

Cons;
Not a true open sandbox world, doors are closed, "just because" and looting/inventory is a grind all on it's own.

I want to know how the game plays on the PC, but I have heard rumor that the download from Steam was screwed up. I guess I will wait.
